THE HOME
An eclectic mix of designer and personal objects from our travels over the years. We love 60s Italian and Swedish furniture, and always collect a local mask from the places we visit. Our home is filled with different textiles, ceramics, and objects we love from all over. It's very cozy, yet spacious for a New York apartment. The building has two garden courtyards and an indoor pool.
What do you love most about your home?: The vibe at night. Something about low lighting makes for the most welcoming environment to host or just cozy up on the couch for a good movie.
How would you describe the style or feel of your home?: Colorful, but not overwhelming. We try to fill the space with things we love - whether that be textiles from India, a mirror from France, or woven masks from Portugal.
What's your favourite thing to do at home?: We love hosting friends for dinners, which leads to long nights around the coffee table just laughing and chatting.
Are there any ethical, lifestyle, or household practices guests should know about or be respectful of?: No smoking and no shoes household. This is also a family home, so please respect that a young child lives here.
What do guests always comment on when they arrive? : The decor and the windows.
THE AREA
The home is in the Lower East Side. The area is a vibrant, historic downtown Manhattan neighbourhood bordered by the Bowery, East River, Canal Street, and Houston Street.
